REGINA, SK – Alex Morrison led the way with a goal and two assists, and Drew Heil notched the winner as the Yorkton Terriers beat the Flin Flon Bombers 6-3 in the first rematch of last year’s CANTERRA SEEDS Cup final.

Callum Creig made 31 stops, while Peter Godley added a goal and an assist.

Ryder Mucha replied with two goals and an assist in the defeat, which saw the Bombers go 2-2 on their four-game, five-night road trip through the Bunge Division.

The defending champs have played five of their first six this year away from home, and will now play six of the next seven at the Whitney Forum.

In Melville, Mils’ goaltender Noah Kraus and Humboldt netminder Brady Holtvogt duelled remarkably, but it was the former who came out on top, as his 45 stops helped the hosts hold on to a 2-1 win.

Grady Carmichael’s second power-play goal in three games at 2:24 of the second period proved the winner, before Broncos captain Connor Miller cut the Melville lead to one with 7:25 remaining in regulation.

Kraus has allowed two or fewer goals in four of his five starts and allowed only three in his one loss on the campaign thus far.

Holtvogt replied with 42 saves of his own.

Drew Beasley and Steven Steranka each scored twice and added a helper to lead the Estevan Bruins to their first win of the campaign in a 7-3 triumph over the Nipawin Hawks.

Lochlan Tetarenko also counted a three-point night for the hosts, while seven Bruins had multi-point nights.

Nipawin captain Mason Karakochuk responded with two goals to pace the Hawks.

Finally, for the second night in a row, the Warman Wolverines rallied to send their contest with Melfort to overtime, but the Mustangs edged the win in the shootout.

This time, Tristin Ziola scored the only goal in the skills competition.

Warman netminder Luke Brunen made 35 saves in defeat, while Luke McKechnie stopped 18 Warman shots in the win.
