By Craig Stein

Even the schedule maker couldn’t slow down the league-leading Battlefords North Stars Saturday night.  Just 24 hours after posting a home ice win over Flin Flon, the North Stars were close to 500 kilometres away, beginning a weekend road trip in Yorkton, and they picked up a 1-0 win, their third shutout in their last five outings.

Coby Downs scored just 1:31 into the game, and that was enough as Joel Gryzbowski made 20/20 saves for his league-best fourth shutout as the Stars improved their mark to 29-7-0-0.

The Stars out-shot the Terriers (15-16-3-0) 38-20, as Nathan Hargrave made 37/38 saves in goal for Yorkton.

The Stars wrap up the league’s pre-Christmas schedule Sunday in Melville.
