Joel Gryzbowski also turned in a shutout for the Battlefords North Stars on Saturday, in a 3-0 win in Flin Flon.

The North Stars (8-3-0-0) won both games at the Whitney Forum over the weekend, and Gryzbowski has now allowed just two goals in four starts, giving the 17-year-old Hafford product a 4-0-0 record, 0.55 GAA, .976% and a pair of shutouts.

Defenseman Connor Sych scored twice for the Stars, both on the powerplay, just 1:14 apart in the first period, and he finished off a three point night, assisting on Logan Nachtegaele’s empty netter in the dying seconds.

Brenden Newton made 34/36 saves in goal for the Bombers (6-2-1-1).

The Kindersley Klippers had a long layoff prior to this week, but it only affected them positively, as they won their fourth in a row on Saturday, 4-2 over the Melfort Mustangs.

Cole Plotnikoff (1g-1a), Cole Young (1g-1a), Andrew McCaan and Branden Wagner did the scoring for Kindersley (5-3-0-0), while Gunnar Nielsen made 27/29 saves.

Dakota Boutin scored his first of the season for the Mustangs (3-7-0-1) while Adam Hergott added the other in the third period.  The Mustangs are now winless in eight.

The online game sheet wasn’t up due to some technical difficulties, but Jared Legien scored twice including the overtime winner as the Yorkton Terriers beat Melville Millionaires 4-3 (OT).

The Terriers returned the favour as the Millionaires beat them on home ice in overtime on Friday.

Yorkton (3-4-2-0) now sits one point back of Melville (4-6-1-0) for third place in the Viterra.
