Second-period flurry helps Mustangs edge Bombers

REGINA, SK – The Melfort Mustangs scored three goals in 1:27 in the second period and held on behind a solid Kristian Coombs performance to beat the Flin Flon Bombers 3-2 Tuesday at Northern Lights Palace.

Nolan Patterson’s marker to end the flurry held up as the winner.

In Wilcox, the La Ronge Ice Wolves made it two wins from two on their road trip with a 3-1 win over the Notre Dame Hounds.

Graham Brown made 38 saves to out-duel an equally brilliant Spencer Borsos in the ND net.
