The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL), in partnership with RBC, is proud to announce that Ryder McKinnon of the La Ronge Ice Wolves, Callum Creig of the Yorkton Terriers, and Connor Miller of the Humboldt Broncos have been named finalists for the 2025-26 SJHL RBC Community Ambassador Award.
The RBC Community Ambassador program recognizes players who are making a meaningful difference in the communities where they play. Each ambassador has been celebrated during an RBC Game Night and honoured with a $1,000 donation from RBC to a school in their local community. The recipient of the SJHL RBC Community Ambassador Award will be selected through a fan vote at the conclusion of the regular season, with an additional donation of $2,500 made in the winner’s name.
The winner of the award will be announced during the 2026 Canterra Seeds Cup Final.
McKinnon, a defenceman with the La Ronge Ice Wolves, has made a significant impact through his dedication to youth engagement and community involvement. His $1,000 donation will support Pre-Cam Community School in La Ronge.
McKinnon has volunteered extensively with the U13 Ice Wolves, assisted at both local elementary schools, and works as an Educational Assistant at Pre-Cam. Known for his thoughtful and intentional approach, he has built meaningful relationships throughout the community, serving as both a role model and mentor. His commitment extends beyond La Ronge, as he has also worked with young players in Saskatoon, sharing his experience and emphasizing the importance of mindset and personal growth.
Creig, the Yorkton Terriers No. 1 goaltender, will direct his $1,000 donation to Dr. Brass Elementary School in Yorkton.
Over his two seasons, the Calgary product has established himself as a character presence both on and off the ice.
He has been deeply involved in Yorkton Minor Hockey, regularly assisting with practices and mentoring young athletes, while also contributing to numerous community initiatives.
His volunteer work includes school programs, charitable events, the Terry Fox Run, and activities supporting youth and individuals with special needs. Creig’s integrity, passion, and consistency have made him a respected figure among teammates, families, and community members alike.
Miller, who joined the Flin Flon Bombers at the deadline following two-and-a-half seasons with the Humboldt Broncos, will have his $1,000 donation benefit St. Augustine School in Humboldt. During his time in Humboldt, Miller became a cornerstone of community engagement, volunteering with local schools, the Humboldt Soup Kitchen, senior homes, and a wide range of community events. His positive attitude and genuine care for others have left a lasting impression.
Miller also demonstrated exceptional leadership through his involvement in the Broncos’ Movember campaign, where he emerged as the SJHL’s top fundraiser, raising awareness and support for men’s health initiatives. His character, leadership, and commitment to service have made him a standout representative of both his team and the league.
