REGINA, SK – The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) is once again getting behind Movember, with players, coaches and staff across the league growing their moustaches throughout November to raise money and awareness for men’s health.
Last year, SJHL teams and supporters raised more than $22,000 for the campaign. The league is hoping to build on that total this year and is encouraging fans to get involved by signing up, donating and supporting their local team.
Throughout the month, the SJHL will share weekly updates and photos of players’ moustaches as the competition takes shape. An upcoming episode of SJHL Weekly will also feature a special guest from Movember Canada, who will discuss the campaign and why conversations around men’s physical and mental health matter.
There will also be a little friendly competition between teams, with the SJHL club that raises the most money earning a special prize and recognition for its fundraising efforts.
Fans can follow the campaign throughout November on SJHL social media and join the movement by clicking here.
Last year’s total is a great starting point. Now, the SJHL is looking to see if its teams and fans can top it.
