SKATE-A-THON IN HONOUR OF JACOB LEICHT

The La Ronge Ice Wolves are incredibly excited to host an 11-hour Skate-a-Thon Feb. 11.

The Skate-a-Thon will take place at the Patterson Park Skating Oval from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. During the 11 hours, there will be an Ice Wolves player, La Ronge Minor Hockey player and a member of the Tri-Community on the ice.

We invite everyone to come down to watch, cheer on the skaters and to join us at 7 p.m. to celebrate with a bonfire, hot dogs and hot chocolate.

So why are we doing this? The idea was inspired by the Northern Lights Movement For Kids – an initiative that was started by the family of Jacob Leicht, who passed away in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash in 2018. Jacob was a good friend and former teammate of our Asst. Coach Kyle Schneider.

On Feb. 11, we’re going to skate, we’re going to move and we’re going to be active for 11 hours – inspired by #11 Jacob Leicht.

If you would like to sign up for a skating shift, please contact Kelly Graham (Ice Wolves board member) via email: kellygraham@nlsd113.ca
