SOURCE EMBROIDERY POWER RANKINGS (Jan 21)

By Mike Stackhouse

1-NIPAWIN HAWKS (30-12-1-1)  1st last week
Defending champs know defense is what wins titles and they’ve allowed a league low 88 goals in 44 games.

2-BATTLEFORDS NORTH STARS (24-10-4-4)  4th last week
Stars have won four straight and have only one loss in their last ten, but they’ll have to be road warriors down the stretch to close out the division title.

3-FLIN FLON BOMBERS (27-13-0-2)  7th last week
Bombers have won seven straight games and get Ethan Daniels back this week to add to what looks like a stacked roster.

4-KINDERSLEY KLIPPERS (25-11-3-2)  2nd last week
They’ve lost their grip on top spot in the Global Ag Risk Solutions Division, but it’s far from over with head to head games with the Stars still left on the schedule.

5-MELFORT MUSTANGS (26-13-3-0)  3rd last week
Mustangs have scuffled a bit in their last ten, but picked up three of a possible four points this past weekend and battled from behind in the third period against Humboldt.

6-HUMBOLDT BRONCOS (25-16-2-1)  6th last week
Broncos have dropped into that dubious 7th position, which would mean they’d be forced to play in the Survivor Series.

7-NOTRE DAME HOUNDS (18-16-4-4) 8th last week
Hounds have, quietly, put together an eight game winning streak as rookie netminder Riley Kohonick has turned a corner in his development to lead the way.

8-ESTEVAN BRUINS (21-20-2-1) 10th last week
Yorkton opened the door wide for them to walk through, and that’s exactly what the Bruins have done, riding a three game win streak.

9-YORKTON TERRIERS (22-19-1-0)  5th last week
They’ve sunk like a stone as of late, losing seven of their last nine and not resembling the up and coming team that we saw at the Christmas break.

10-MELVILLE MILLIONAIRES (13-24-3-3)  9th last week
Hanging on to the final playoff position by a thread and now the Wings have games in hand.

11-WEYBURN RED WINGS (14-24-3-0)  11th last week
How bad has the Viterra Division been as of late?  Well if you take into account each team’s current streak, they are 3-10-1-and-1.  The Wings and Mils are a combined 0-8-1-and-1.

12-LA RONGE ICE WOLVES (10-31-1-1)  12th last week
No longer an easy out, they’ve stolen some wins in their last ten games and Jordan Frey had a great weekend against Nipawin.
