REGINA, SK – Evan Hymovitch’s power-play redirect on a Thomas Ries point shot at the 11:09 mark of the second period held up as the winner as the Yorkton Terriers edged the Weyburn Red Wings 6-5 Wednesday.

The Terriers, who snapped a three-game skid with the win, held 5-1 and 6-2 leads.

Tyson Medernach led Yorkton with three points, while Ryan Gibbs led Weyburn with three of his own.

Gibbs is on a five-game point-scoring streak, totalling 13 points over that span.

The teams combined for six power-play goals, three each, on 15 opportunities in the wild tilt.

Elsewhere in Nipawin, the Hawks scored eight goals for the second game in a row in an 8-2 romp of the Kindersley Klippers.

Eight different Hawks had multi-point nights, paced by a pair of goals and a helper from Jack Janzen.

The teams combined for 170 penalty minutes, with 24 infractions called in the third period alone.

Nipawin is now unbeaten in five games, four of them wins.

Connor Johnson made 29 saves in the win, his sixth out of seven starts for the Hawks.
