REGINA, SK – Weyburn Red Wings’ defenceman Nicholas Kovacs committed to the State University of New York at Geneseo of NCAA Division III for next year.
Kovacs, 20, hails from North Delta, BC, and played in 163 games for the Wings between 2021 and 2024.
In that span, he posted 59 regular season and 5 playoff points.
A mobile 6-foot-1, 183-pounder, he joins fellow Weyburn blue liner Colin Doherty in committing to the SUNYAC school in up-state New York.
They are the first two Wings to commit for post-secondary education from this campaign.
