REGINA, SK – The defending champs are on the brink of elimination.
Justin Lies notched his fifth and sixth goals of Round 2, and Alexi Sylvestre added three helpers as the Flin Flon Bombers took a 3-0 series lead over the Battlefords North Stars with a 5-2 win at the Access Communications Centre Monday.
Lies, the Flin Flon captain, has points in every post-season game so far this year, and ran his point streak to eight contests. He also has goals in five straight.
The Bombers, the No. 1 seed, have won every game they have played in the playoffs so far, and have scored the first goal in every contest.
Carter Anderson scored the winner with a highlight-reel marker 5:07 into the third period.
