No change in the Top 4
CALGARY, Alta. (Monday, Oct. 17, 2016) – Another great week in the Canadian Junior Hockey League has passed and the top four clubs from seven days ago hold onto their spots. Three teams still remain undefeated, while others are making strong moves into the Top 20 rankings and their respective standings.
The BCHL’s Wenatchee Wild continues their strong play, and the Penticton Vees are breathing down the Wild’s neck in the overall standings.
Over in the AJHL, the Fort McMurray Oil Barons are on a seven-game winning streak while the Bonnyville Pontiacs and the Spruce Grove Saints are in close pursuit.
Action in Saskatchewan has the Humboldt Broncos still flexing their muscles and the Weyburn Red Wings are right behind the Broncos in the overall standings of the SJHL.
The Steinbach Pistons remain unbeaten in the MJHL, and are now being pursued by the Portage Terriers and the OCN Blizzard.
The Dryden GM Ice Dogs now sit atop the standings in terms of overall winning percentage in the SIJHL and still hold three games in hand on the Thunder Bay North Stars.
In the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League, the Cochrane Crunch sits ahead of the Powassan Voodoos and the Timmins Rock are within striking distance of the top of the standings while the Rayside-Balfour Canadians sit atop the West Division.
