Directwest Commitment: Bruins’ Pearce commits to Regina

Estevan, SK (March 7, 2022) – The Estevan Bruins of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) are thrilled to announce forward Eric Pearce has committed to attend and play for the University of Regina.

Pearce (01), finished with 48 points (20g, 28a) in 40 games. Pearce finished fifth in team scoring for the Bruins and was a key player for the penalty kill unit that finished with 90.2 % kill rate.

“Eric averaged over a point a game for us this season.  Eric contributed for us offensively but played a key role for us defensively.  Eric takes all of our  important draws offensively and defensively.  Eric will be a great two-way player at the university level. He is very mature person that led our team to a first-place finish in the regular season,” said Bruins Head Coach & GM, Jason Tatarnic. The 6-foot-1, 200lb forward from Regina, SK, played for the Prince Albert Raiders and the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL before joining the Estevan Bruins this season.  Eric was part of the Prince Albert Raiders Western League Championship in 2018-2019.

The Regina Cougars are located in Regina, SK, and compete in the Canada West Division under Head Coach Todd Johnson.
