Flin Flon Bombers 26/27 Season Preview

REGINA, SK

Bombers begin historic 100th season

The storied club’s 100th season.

Defending its first championship since 1993.

A new head coach after 19 years of a living legend.

No pressure, right?

The answer to that question is bound to be different for everybody associated with the Bomber organization, but the fact that the incoming-yet-familiar-faced Head Coach/GM Cole McCaig already has a roster that is, at the very least, as deep as any in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

Certainly, following the great Mike Reagan and that magical run to a four-game sweep of Yorkton in the 2026 CANTERRA SEEDS Cup Final is a big task. Still, with experienced firepower like the smooth Leo Seitz, the fearsome and physical Landon Alexander, and the crafty Jack Martin up front, Nash Holmes, Kyle Marsden, and way-too-early Rookie of the Year candidate Wade Franks on the back end, McCaig at least has all the talent needed to hang out at or near the top of the standings all year.

It remains unknown whether elite puck stopper Finn Werner, still only 18, will return from Everett in the Western Hockey League, and whether he does or not will determine whether the only question mark around this roster is goaltending. If he’s back, the answer will be a resounding “no.”

The “can’t get over the championship hump”-sized chip on Flin Flon’s shoulder is now gone, so what’s next for the Maroon and White? We can’t wait to find out.

Let’s take a look at some key numbers from Flin Flon’s last regular season:
