The 22/23 edition of the Goals for KidsSport program is officially in the books and another $20,000 has been raised through the program for KidSport Saskatchewan.
Goals for KidSport is a partnership between SaskEnergy, KidSport Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) aimed at helping youth participate in sport by reducing the financial pressure often associated with accessing sport activities.
The Battlefords North Stars ended up winning the KidsSport Cup, which is the competition between the 11 Saskatchewan based teams in the league to see who would score the most goals at home.
The complete standings from the KidSport Cup are below.
The North Stars were presented the KidsSport Cup last week at their home game on Friday against the Humboldt Broncos.
However, it was Nipawin Hawks forward Carson Dobson who scored the 1,000th goal to end the KidsSport Cup. He will be presented a medal on Friday (March 10th) when the Nipawin Hawks play host to the Melfort Mustangs.
Director of Media Jeromy Corrigan caught up with Supervisor of Community Engagement for SaskEnergy Allix Schweitzer to put a bow on this year’s program.
