Hounds’ rookie forward, Elliot Dutil continues to find the back of the net at nearly a goal-per-game pace. This past week he added three more tallies to his already league-leading 14 goals on the season. The fact he’s producing at this rate as a 2003 born, first-year SJHL’er is even more impressive.

MAYFAIR DIAGNOSTICS SJHL DEFENCEMAN OF THE WEEK: Mkyllan Couture, Nipawin Hawks
The Nipawin Hawks found themselves in a bit of a slump since the SJHL Showcase. However, two games against the La Ronge Ice Wolves where they picked up back-to-back wins may have been what they needed to get the momentum swinging in the other direction. 20-year-old defenseman, Mkyllan Couture picked up a goal and an assist in the Hawks 5-4 shootout win on Friday, before adding another helper in their 4-0 shutout victory on Saturday.

SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK: Chase Hamm, Nipawin Hawks
Chase Hamm has been a workhorse for the Hawks so far this year, currently third the SJHL in minutes played. He continued that this weekend suiting up for both Hawks’ games. Hamm picked up his sixth and seventh victory of the year, including a 4-0 shutout performance on Saturday over the Ice Wolves.
Hamm now has 2 shutouts on the season to go along with a 2.17 GAA, and .915 SV%

DIRECTWEST SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Caelan Fitzpatrick, Estevan Bruins
The youth movement across the league has been exceptional with only two 20-year-olds in the Top-10 of the SJHL scoring leaders. One of the young guns excelling this year is Estevan’s Caelan Fitzpatrick who sits in 8th with 21 points in 17 games. This week he collected 3 more points in the Bruins 6-2 win over the Humboldt Broncos on Saturday night.
