REGINA, SK – Of the five contests played in the SJHL Saturday, four ended one-goal games, and the fifth was one-plus an empty netter.

It could hardly have been tighter.

The Millionaires left it the latest as Matt Kjemhus’ point shot snuck in with 21 seconds remaining in regulation to hand Melville a hard-fought 4-3 win at home vs. the Estevan Bruins.

Rylan Silzer and Mason Bueckert scored in the third for La Ronge, but the Ice Wolves could not complete the comeback in the Battlefords as the North Stars took a 5-4 victory.

Two Bronco goaltenders shared the duties, but Bombers’ netminder Kenneth Marquart made one more save as Reid Arberry’s third-period finish held up a 2-1 Flin Flon win over Humboldt.

In Kindersley, it was Yorkton who earned the split of the two games as Tyler Palin’s late winner helped lift the Terriers to a 5-4 win over the Klippers.

Finally, in Weyburn, the Red Wings stormed out to a 3-0 lead and held on with an empty netter to down the defending champion Melfort Mustangs 5-3.
