TERRIERS TAKE BACK THIRD

The Yorkton Terriers picked up their second straight win over the Weyburn Red Wings on Monday night, 3-1 in a game that was originally scheduled for January but was moved due to travel conditions.

The win lifts the Terriers (29-19-1-1) one point ahead of Nipawin and back into third place in the SJHL overall standings, setting the table for a Tuesday night showdown with the Hawks.

Matthew Pesenti made his debut in goal for the Terriers, stopping 23 of the 24 shots he faced.  Tyson Janzen, Steven Norum and Colby Vranai scored for Yorkton as Chantz Petruic served the first of a six game suspension.

Dante Ballarin scored and Joseph Young made 37/40 saves in goal for the Red Wings (19-29-1-2).
