REGINA, SK – Hometown boy Trey Markus scored twice 15 seconds apart, the second with 10.5 seconds remaining in regulation, and Theron Bensler scored his first-ever junior hockey goal to lift the Warman Wolverines past the Yorkton Terriers 5-4 in overtime Tuesday.
Yorkton had mounted a comeback of its own, scoring four times in the second period after Warman took an early 2-0 lead.
Markus also assisted on Bensler’s overtime winner, and his six points this year pushed him into a tie for the early-season SJHL scoring lead.
Luke Brunen made 21 saves in the win, while Callum Creig replied with 24 stops as the Terriers moved to 1-1 on the campaign.
