YORKTON GETS INTO THE WIN COLUMN

By Mike Stackhouse

The Yorkton Terriers earned their first win under new head coach Casey O’Brien on Tuesday night by scoring four unanswered goals in downing the visiting Battlefords North Stars 5-1.

First year Terrier netminder Greg Maggio kicked out 40-shots, including all twenty-four he faced over the final two periods when the Terriers mustered only 13 the other way.

Brandon Sookro scored twice and Corwin Stevely set up both of his goals to lead Yorkton (1-1-1) offensively.  Dexter Robinson, Cole Keenleyside, and Carson Welke also picked up markers for the Terriers, who travel to Humboldt on Wednesday.

The Stars (2-1), who are in Melville on Wednesday, got their only goal from Reed Delainey.
